A brand new year, and a beautiful set of winners to go with it! A lot of lovely orchids were sent for judging at the AOS Western Canada Judging Center earlier this month. Three really stood out.
The beautiful Cattleya (Jungle Jewel x Beau’s Apricot Gem), exhibited by Daniel Kwok, is shown above. It received a highly commended certificate (HCC/AOS), which is provisional pending hybrid registration.
Liparis parviflora ‘Tropical Gardens Orchids’, exhibited by Calvin Wong of Tropical Gardens Orchids is pictured on the right. It received a certificate of botanical recognition (CBR/AOS), which is provisional pending species identification.
Finally, Cymbidium Wong Tak Fai ‘Billy’ (Cymbidium parishii x Cymbidium mastersii) is pictured on the left. It was also exhibited by Calvin Wong of Tropical Gardens Orchids, and received an award of merit (AM/AOS).
Congratulations to all of these wonderful plants and their exhibitors!
